Star Wars: Episode VII Video, The Imitation Game’s trailers, a Sin CIty 2 TV Spot & More!

the imitation game july 21

The Imitation Game has two new looks at the film, Sin City: A Dame to Kill For has a bland new trailer for a colorful film, Star Wars: Episode VII gets charitable, and Guardians of the Galaxy extends a scene!

The Imitation Game

The Imitation Game has a new domestic and UK trailer today, and both do an exceptional job of showing the incredible performance by Benedict Cumberbatch. Both he and Knightley look really good, but it’s Cumberbatch who shines. This is absolutely an Oscar role for him. I hope he pulls of portraying Alan Turing – the gay mathematician who was the key to cracking the German Enigma machine and helping the Allies win WWII. Kind of an important dude.

He also came up with the Turing Test, which helps us determine if artificial intelligence is as good as we hope – and fear – it may become.

Sin City: A Dame to Kill For

Sin City: A Dame to Kill For has a new TV spot that does not do all that much for me. It has some decent enough visuals, but it relies a little too heavily – at least for me – on the deep voiced narrator. Not my cup of tea.

Star Wars: Episode VII

Star Wars: Episode VII has a new video that shows JJ Abrams talking about some charity contest blah blah blah THERE’S AN X-WING! HOLY CRAP!! AND SOME ROBOT THING ROLLED BY UNDERNEATH IT!

I’m excited.

Guardians of the Galaxy

HOLY COW! Super awesome nerd day! Guardians of the Galaxy will be keeping faithful to comic book canon by having Gamora be the daughter of Thanos, who will likely be the villain in the third Avengers film!

Also cool is that Rocket Raccoon doesn’t know there are other creatures like him in the cosmos. He was genetically modified to be more than a raccoon, but doesn’t realize there are other raccoons for him to screw! Very cool. And then we see Chris Pratt’s been doing steroids, and there’s a brief moment where we see Rocket’s scars. He’s been through some painful stuff, man.
