Neighbors, 300: Rise of an Empire, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and Winter’s Tale reveal new posters, and 22 Jump Street offers a green band look!
The upcoming Seth Rogen/Zach Efron comedy Neighbors has a new poster today that shows the two men on either sides of the title, looking like they’re not happy. The film actually looks pretty funny, but this poster is blah. I think Rogen has enough popularity to just be on a poster, but Efron has a ways to go in my opinion. Neighbors might go a long way toward making him likable for dudes though.
300: Rise of an Empire
300: Rise of an Empire has a new poster featuring Jack O’Connell as Calisto. I was initially going to say the poster looks cool, but then I saw the background. Man, that is shit. That looks really bad. Like, horrible bad. Bad photoshop and all that. His face paint is sorta cool I guess, but this poster is ruined for me.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 has a new poster today that is clearly a slight modification of the previous one that had all the bad guys and Times Square in it. This one has the same Spider-Man in the foreground, but no baddies. Just clouds with some lightning, no doubt indicating Electro, but not really giving us much else to go on. An interesting note is that the teasers haven’t done too much with Electro yet, outside of a few nice action set pieces. I feel Jamie Foxx is definitely the primary villain of the film, as he’s a pretty big name, and he hasn’t had much story yet. I’m guessing we’ll learn some more about him in the next trailer.
Winter’s Tale has three new posters today that all look like crap for a movie that looks so damn good. They’re character posters focusing on the three main leads (though Jennifer Connelly is missing, leading me to think her part might not be that big). Colin Farrell looks okay, and Russell Crowe as well, though neither looks particularly good, and both looks horribly photoshopped, but Jessica Brown Findlay, who looks incredible in the trailer, looks horrible here. Not ugly, just horribly plastic and unreal. It’s like I’m looking at a computer lady. And not in a sexy way.
22 Jump Street
22 Jump Street has a new green band trailer, and it’s basically just a watered down, less awesome version of what we’ve already seen, but the squid part with ink in Jonah Hill’s mouth was pretty funny. Otherwise, it’ll do. I’m remarkably excited for this. I can not believe I”m saying that about a C-Tates film.
